Caregivers
Medication management for caregivers
Caregiver medication support works best when the person taking medication remains involved and everyone understands who prepares, reminds, confirms, and follows up.
Agree on roles before sharing information
Clarify who maintains the medication list, who prepares medication, who receives reminders, and when a caregiver should follow up. Consent and purpose should guide every shared view.
Use exceptions instead of constant checking
A calm routine should not require repeated calls or visits just to ask whether an intake happened. Focus attention on missed, late, or unclear events that genuinely need support.
Keep records understandable
Taken, skipped, pending, and manually edited events should remain distinguishable so caregivers can discuss patterns without making assumptions.
Protect independence and privacy
Medication support should be proportionate to the person’s needs. Share only useful information and revisit permissions when roles or care arrangements change.
Visibility should support autonomy, not become surveillance.
